Sorority Recruitment

  Recruitment Guidelines

(Please Read these carefully before registering!)

  • All potential new members must register with the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life to participate in fraternity recruitment. Registration closes on August 29th, 2017 at 11:59 p.m.
  • Beginning with the first day of classes through Bid Day, potential new members will not be allowed at any sorority social events except sanctioned recruitment events.
  • Potential new members may attend any fundraisers as long as they pay admittance.
  • Potential new members cannot accept a bid until Bid Day.
  • All sorority recruitment events will be non-alcoholic.
  • Freshman (first semester students) must have a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0 to participate in sorority recruitment.
  • Non-first year students (ex: Sophomore, Junior, etc.) must have completed 12 semester hours at Appalachian and must have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 2.65 to participate in Recruitment.
  • Transfers are eligible to participate in sorority recruitment their first semester at Appalachian and do not have a minimum grade point average requirement.
  • All potential new members must attend an information session facilitated by the PanRegister now button bluehellenic Governing Council.

Things to Know for Recruitment

  • Be yourself. There is nothing more important than being yourself during recruitment. You will end up in the right sorority for you, and you will be happy with your decision.

  • Ask questions. Make sure all your questions are sufficiently answered. By asking questions you will be able to find out more about each sorority and its members.
