Multicultural Greek Council
Mission Statement
The Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) at Appalachian State University was officially established on April 24, 2019. Currently, the organizations that make up the council are Chi Upsilon Sigma National Latin Sorority, Incorporated and Lambda Sigma Upsilon Latino Fraternity, Incorporated. The purpose of MGC is to provide a council for Greek organizations that contribute specifically to diversity and inclusion on our campus. MGC serves as the governing body and network for multiculturally based Greek organizations to create and maintain high standards in the life of fraternities and sororities. We strive to serve all MGC organizations as a support group and governing body in their events and communities, to promote multicultural awareness, and to improve relations among all campus fraternities and sororities. Our goal is to develop exceptional individuals through building professional and interpersonal relationships, advocating for common issues, and by creating a sense of family through friendship, active support, trust & respect.
