Greek Week

wheelbarrowGreek Week is a time in the spring when the members of the fraternity and sorority community come together around events of celebration - be it community service events or events that celebrate fraternities and sororities. Fraternity and sorority chapters compete to win points to determine who the Greek Week champions are. Points are determined by who wins events and/or who has the highest participation and contributes the most to the community service effort. Events in the past have included the Lip Sync production, athletic events and games, and penny wars (fundraising for charity).

Greek Week is coordinated by the governing councils/associations of the Fraterniy and Sorority Community, with assistance from the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life and the Office of Campus Activities.

In 2016, the Fraternity and Sorority Life community donated more than 11,000 canned food items to the Hunger Health Coalition.

This year, Greek Life began collecting cans at "Canstruction" during a cook out. On the following Saturday, fraternity and sorority members participated in a service day. Greeks participated in various events around Boone including a blood drive, two different 5Ks, Leave Yosef a Legacy Day, and the Children's Playhouse. Throughout the week, Greeks participated in "Greek Games" where they participated in friendly competition in games including tug of war, chariot races, relay races, and a balloon toss. To finish it off, they held the annual Lip Sync competition.
